Sensational Sentences
In class we have been learning about the four different sentences and the punctuation marks that are used for each type.

We used strong vocabulary to name our sentences. Today in class we made an educreations together to demonstrate our learning. Check it out.

We also talked about how great comments usually end with an interrogative sentence. This gives other bloggers an opportunity to respond back to you!

Can you write a comment about your favorite type of sentence?

Tell me why it's your favorite type of sentence. Provide an example. Be sure to use strong vocabulary when naming your sentence. Also use the correct punctuation marks!!! Try ending your comment with an interrogative sentence so someone can respond to you!

  1. Dear Room 9,
My favorite type of sentence is a question. Do you ask a lot of questions? I like to ask questions because they help me if I am confused or don’t know the answer. It also helps you learn when you ask questions. How do you think asking questions can help you?

  2. Dear Room 9,
My favorite type of sentence is a command sentence. I like command sentences because I like to command my dogs to do tricks. I command my dogs to sit, stay, lie down, roll over, and do a hand shake. Does anyone like to play with their dog and command them?

  3. Dear Room 9,
I am Isabella’s dog Chilly. My favorite type of sentence is a question because questions are usually about something I love. For example, I like when my owners ask me, “do you want to go for a walk?” or “do you want a treat?” Some other questions that I like are, “are you hungry?” and “are you a good dog?”. I do not like commands such as “go outside” or “sit” or “stay” or “go to your bed”. And I can’t respond because I’m just a dog. Which do you think your dog likes more, commands or questions?

    Sincerely,

    Chilly…ruff, ruff

  4. Dear Room 9,

This is Jetta, Devyn’s puppy. My favorite kinds of sentences are commands. I love commands because most of the time I get delicious treats and learn new tricks when I do what I‘m commanded. However, there is one command I’m no a fan of, which is, “Leave it.” This means I have to stop playing with one of my favorite toys, Devyn’s shoe. Sometimes when this sentence is used it sounds more like an exclamatory sentence. For example, when I thought Devyn’s brother’s hair was a fluffy chew toy, Devyn yelled loudly, “Jetta, leave it!” We are working on this one. I have mastered sit, down and stay. This pleases my family, which is the best treat of all. Does anybody see why chewing on hair or shoes is such a big deal?

    From,

    Jetta

  5. Dear Room 9,
My favorite type of sentence is a question because when I ask questions that I don't know the answer to I can find out new things that I didn't know before. For example, I asked my sister about Greek Mythology because I think it is interesting.I learned that Poseidon is the God of water and that he is one of the main three Gods or one the big three. The Gods of the big three are Zeus,Hades, and Poseidon.

Do you know anything about Greek Mythology?

    Sincerely,
    Alexa

  6. Dear Room 9,
I just wanted to tell you that I TOTALLY loved your video about the four different types of sentences! As a mom, I think that I use a LOT of command sentences, but I would like to use more question sentences every day. I'm very curious about what you kids think! So, to utilize a question sentence, what was the best command sentence your mom or dad gave you this week?

    Love,
    Kelly (Kaden's Mom)

  7. Dear Chilly,
Wow Chilly, I never knew you knew how to blog! Maybe now we can blog together. Come Chilly, it’s time to blog. I’m sorry Chilly that you don’t like commands, but sometimes you need them. Does your dog know how to blog?
    Sincerely,
    Isabella

  8. Dear Room 9,

My favorite type of sentence is an exclamatory. Here is an example of an exclamatory sentence: I finished my homework! I like exclamatory sentences because you can say them with a lot of enthusiasm. Do you like exclamatory sentences?

    Sophia :)

  9. Dear Room 9,
My favorite kind of sentence is a statement or declarative. I like statements because they teach me about stuff. An example of a statement is "I like basketball.'' Another example of a statement is "I know basketball is fun. I think you will like basketball too." This is another statement: "I know how to do a trick in basketball." Do you know how to do a trick in basketball? Do you have a basketball video game? Do you like basketball too?
